Winter Skills Day in the Lakes Adventure Details

A full fun winter skills day in the Lakes. Wrap up warm and join us as we find some snow-covered ground and practice our crampon walks and ice axe arrests. It’s intended to be a fun day with an emphasis on safety and skills.

Prerequisite (What experience should I have)

  • Just enjoy walking in the outdoors and have an interest in learning some winter skills

What’s Included

  • Return transfer from our base in Newcastle
  • Experienced and first aid trained guide
  • All technical equipment, including hats, crampons and ice axe.
  • Snacks and warm refreshments

What should I bring to the adventure?

  • Winter walking clothes and suitable walking boots.
  • Small rucksack with waterproofs, extra layers, water and a packed lunch
  • Warm hat, gloves, and spare gloves.
  • Gators
  • Small first aid pack is always suggested, your guide will also have a first aid kit for the group
  • Map (if you’re interested in map reading but not essential)
  • Face covering (for the transfer and shop stop) and hand sanitiser
  • Packed lunch

Location and Arrival Details

We’ll meet at Alexander Adventures base on Brinkburn Street at 6am. The postcode is NE6 2 AR, and you can park here for the day. No parking charges. We’ll then start our drive to the Lake District. We usually arrive back at our base before 6pm. It’s a full day of fresh air and adventure!
